“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence…” Ephesians 1:7-8
While reading through and meditating on this passage in the book of Ephesians, a simple word was highlighted to me—prudence. Often when Holy Spirit highlights a word to me I look up the definition. This often leads to more revelation.
According to the Webster 1828 dictionary, “prudence implies caution in deliberating and consulting on the most suitable means to accomplish valuable purposes, and the exercise of sagacity in discerning and selecting them.”
Looking at Ephesians 1:7-8 through this lens, we can deduct that when God extended His grace to us through Christ’s death on the cross, He knew every possible failure on our part. Scripture tells us that God is always ready to forgive. (Psalm 86:5)
This is not a license to sin but a recognition of the steadfast love and mercy of our God.
As this passage in Ephesians states, our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, is according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us.
His blood is enough. His grace is rich and abounds toward you.
Your destiny was well thought out by this loving God who is omniscient, omnipotent and who alone is wise. Even if your circumstances or your history look like there is no possible way God could use it for good, He can. He can, and He will. I’ve experienced this in my own walk with God and it gives me hope and faith for the things I don’t yet see redeemed.
Sometimes the very thing the enemy intended to use to derail you from your destiny is the very thing God will use to launch you into your destiny. I have seen it in my own life and know His faithfulness to do this.
It will not happen without our walking in intimacy with God, hearing His voice and following Him. But, He is absolutely trustworthy and faithful to lead us in victory.
